PROVIDING SPECIAL ACTION AND WEAPON TRAINING COURSES TO THE FILM AND TELEVISION INDUSTrY
The Forces Course will not only compliment the Military skills already held by Forces personnel, but will also enhance the Curriculum Vitae for those wishing to pursue a career in the industry after leaving the Forces.
All students who attend our courses will be taken through a step by step training package in how to become successful in the Film and TV industry. Whether you want to work part time in the industry now, or full time when you leave, this course is for you.
Our 2 day courses comprise of what to expect on arrival on location, including the role and duties of a professional background artist, on set etiquette, production hierarchy and pay and allowances. The course will also cover weapon and pyrotechnic safety, tactics, techniques and procedures with a vast array of weapon systems and ammunition. You will also be shown tips, tricks and best practise employed to ensure a safe working environment and will complete a Safety and Health training course specifically tailored to suit the Industry.
This course may also be visited by Industry professionals that have come from an Armed Forces background, such as Military Advisors, on set Armourers and Stunt Performers. Throughout the duration of the course, each student will be photographed and given advice on casting agencies and shown how to train for and apply to the British Stunt Register. On completion, you will be awarded a Forces Special Action (SPACT) Supporting Artist certificate along with a Creative Industries safety passport.
If you are a serving Regular or Reservist, you will be able to claim back £175 of your course payment via the Standard Learning Credit Scheme. This information will be provided along with your course joining instructions so that the relevant paperwork (MOD Form 1950) can be submitted prior to attending the course.
